Calculator Panel
Fields start blank. Enter a starting amount, time horizon and expected annual return to generate the projection.
Who is this useful for?
Useful for people comparing recurring contributions, return assumptions, fees and inflation instead of looking only at nominal portfolio growth.

How Investment Return & ROI Are Calculated
The projection first totals the starting amount and recurring monthly contributions. Depending on the selected mode, returns are applied either with compounding or as simple time-weighted growth. The modeled cost/deduction rate is then applied to positive gross profit to estimate the ending portfolio value.
When inflation is entered, the calculator also estimates an inflation-adjusted annualized return, separating nominal growth from purchasing-power growth.
What Is This Tool For?
Use it to compare contribution levels, return assumptions, modeled costs and inflation over a chosen horizon.
When is it especially useful?
It is useful for recurring-investment planning and for comparing mathematical scenarios across funds, stocks, gold, crypto or a general portfolio.
What does the score mean?
The score is not investment advice. It summarizes the mathematical quality of the entered scenario; a higher score reflects stronger modeled net/real performance and lower cost pressure.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the projected return guaranteed?
No. The calculator projects a scenario from the assumptions you enter. Actual returns can differ because of market performance, timing, taxes, fees and other costs.
Can monthly contributions materially change the result?
Yes. Recurring contributions can become a large share of ending value over medium and long horizons, so the calculator reports contributed principal separately.
Can I model a negative-return scenario?
Yes. Enter a negative expected annual return to test a loss scenario and compare it with the base and stronger cases.

ROI Panel
Fields start blank. Enter cost, revenue and duration or load example data to generate ROI results.
When can ROI be misleading?
ROI alone does not capture time, risk or omitted costs. This panel therefore also shows annualized ROI, target/alternative comparisons and scenario context.
Scenario Analysis
The base case uses current revenue. Weak and strong cases assume revenue is 10% lower and 10% higher, respectively.
How is ROI calculated?
ROI expresses the net result as a percentage of total cost. The core formula is: ROI = Net Result / Total Cost Γ 100.
The panel first calculates total cost. Revenue minus total cost produces the pre-deduction result; an optional deduction is then applied to positive profit. ROI, annualized ROI, target difference and alternative-return comparison are derived from that result.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does negative ROI mean?
Negative ROI means the net result is below total cost and the scenario produces a loss.
Why can annualized ROI look different?
The same total return earned over a shorter period annualizes to a higher rate. Annualized ROI makes the time dimension more visible.
Is ROI the same as profit margin?
No. Profit margin measures profit relative to revenue, while ROI measures net return relative to the capital/cost base.
